new keyboard

 I have a piano keyboard, all 88 keys and many sounds.  It's not the same as my grand by any means,  Its       fun to practice on and play for fun .  Barb sent me some  pictures

May 27

 We have been in our new home nearly 3 weeks and are feeling very good.  We have flowers on the balcony. We have walked and rode to the duck pond and met many new friends.  

Beth is back in Maine and we hope to see Charlie today as he is here in Colorado for two weeks.  

I get my new keyboard on Friday, so I can practice in the room for the ice cream social hour where I will be playing some.  

We have met lots of nice people.  Tonight Peggy who had lived in south Africa, came to visit and look  at our African pictures.  I walked her home and petted     her pretty cat.

70 aniversary

 /we are celebrating iyr 70th anniversary here at Senor LIVing at Mesa Verd.  So far we are very happy and have met many new friends.  I am playing piano for people and  having a good time.  It isn't Home, but we are getting there.  We miss our friends and our church.  I woke this morning seeing my flowers being destroyed in the sun room.  It was just a bad dream but surely close to the truth.  

Finally in Colorado

 We arrived on May 9th and entered our apartment where Beth had unpacked and placed everything in a perfect place.  It is just like home in many respects.  We   to know our way around and Tom enjoys running people over on his scooter. Actually, he hasn't done that yet.The people are very friendly.   have
lovely views from our rooms.

FUrniture in Grand Junction

 Yes, the van has unloaded in our apartment.  So excited.   CTS comes on 4-27 and Bryce on May 2.   Busy time.  

Solstice senior living at Mesa view.

 We are in the packing mode and now it's sorting our old paintings from lession years.  I fear we won't be there very long before Tom needs more assistance.  We shall see.   At least for a while we will enjoy.'

Packing

We have finally decided to go to Colorado for our retirement and I am very busy packing up things and keeping a log of what goes into what box.  It is a hard task.  I have  finished sorting a zillion pictures and sent family their box of memories.  I have moments of feeling very sad, but I know staying here would be very hard as getting help for us will be very difficult.  I pray to God that this is the right thing to do.  Charlie will be sad that we are not going to Florida, but I know we would take him away from Family time which is limited as he is away all week.  I pray there are no hard feelings.

where oh where are we to go?

 Yes, is it Florida or Colorado? That is the big question.  We have a daughter in  Colorado and a son in Florida.  The son works long  hours away from home and family and has little quality time with family.  With us  in Florida it will cut into that time. Florida makes more sense, but I don"t want to mess up his family time which will happen as he and his dad love to spend hours talking. 

Colorado on the other hand poses an elevation problem or maybe not.  Our daughter will feel better to have us there, and would likely spend more time flying to Florida to check on us which takes  time away from her home and husband.

This all poses a heartache for a mom that loves her family very much. We would likely see our daughter's family more if we went to Colorado, but our sons family is in Florida already. However, families do move around.  Our daughter has settled on Colorado as her retirement home. Our son's family could end up anywhere.  But we do not know how many years or days we have left in our time on earth.  So this is the problem in heart aches we have.

May God guide and grant us peace about our decision. 

snowy February

We have had a series of snows this month, adding several inches to our base.  Brian came today and shoveled the deck and the oil intake area.  I am still fighting Covid for the second time this year.  2025 has been a rough year so far.
