We are in the midst of an ice storm and this photo shows our plow person stomping the frozen sand so he can sand our driveway.

Church was cancelled as was our Christmas cantata.  We'll try again to do it on Christmas Eve.  It is very nasty outside but we are cozy warm inside.  We still have electricity.

I never got hooked up in Florida to tell bout some of our trips.  We visited the Morse Museum of Tiffany glass in Winter Park, Florida. this has the most complete collection of works by Louis Comfort Tiffany1848-1933.  The collection includes many of the objets from his LOng Island home, Laurelton Hall. the home burned in 1957and all of the stained glass would have been lost except for the efforts of Hugh and JEannette McKean who rescued works from the hall and brought them to florida.
the marvelous stained glass panels from the home are displayed as in the home.  Each room was an awesome sight and I would go again tomorrow if I had a chance.

Then we visited the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of theUniverse which is a sight of more stained glass.  Each window depicts scenes from the Bible as do the bronze door panels A bronze of young Jesus learning carpentry at the feet of Joseph took Tom's breath away.

I have no photos because you couldn't take them in the museum and I forgot the camera when we went to the church.

We are back home in Maine and waiting for the weekend storm.  We missed the big one while in Florida.
Among the nice things we did in Florida was visit our friend Eunice's college school mate, Lydia  from Bay Path College, both ladies being ninety years old. Lydia walked our legs off, but we visited the Tiffany stained glass exhibit and it was outstanding.  All of the glass that could be saved from their home that burned was on exhibit in a most glorious fashion.  Each room was cataloged so you could know what you were seeing.  I have no pictures as that was not permitted.  It is reputed to be the best exhibit of stained glass of this quality anywhere in the world and I can believe it.  the family had wintered in Winter Haven and that's why the daughter wanted it preserved in the little museum there.

Florida on Monday Went to see Eunice's college friend who lives on a lake. We took a boat tour of four lakes connected by canals made by timber men making a way to float logs from one lake to another. Much too hot for us and it sapped all our energy reminding us of why we live in Maine, and not down south. We are just having a good time resting either on the cool patio of the cool rooms.

Florida

We are in sunny Florida. Our condo has a nice screened in patio where I was just sitting and drinking tea. The resort is lush and we will be able to relax around the many pools or walk the lovely trails across the pond. It is 80 degrees. The barren trees in the back are hanging with gloomy looking Spanish moss and there are palm trees all around the grounds. We have a central cooking and eating area with bedrooms and baths on the far ends. We will be very comfortable.

Well, here we are in Georgia with warm sunny skies. the bleak winter woods have come a little to life with the red buds beginning to show. Spanish moss hangs limply from bare trees over the swampy land. A few magnolia trees peak through with their deep shiny green foliage. The Crepe Myrtle trees are still bare, but we did see lots of birds at the welcome station. (The feathered kind). the car is quiet in the back seat as Mary and Eunice read or play games. The boys take turns driving and discussing tehnical matters that we can't understand. We stop often to walk and get snacks or drinks. We arrive at the Time Share tomorrow. It will be fun to stay in one spot for awhile.

Tom and I both have e-books on the market now. His Ghost Walkers of the Western Desert is doing well and he is already working on a sequel. My "Window into the past" is on Kindle and will be o others soon. Her is a description. Windows into the past is a re-write of “A Window into the Past”. It is actually a series of short stories in the life of a young girl growing up on a farm in south Mississippi in the height of the depression. It highlights the activities that she experienced in over a year’s time on the farm. The stories are connected but can stand alone.

Well, it looks like my Window book is now an e-book. Tom says its not on line yet, but it's it the works. I edited my book "A window into the past" and we put it in e-book form under a new title. Windows into the Past, Depression era short stories. Each chapter is actually a short story, so that works. Will write when we get it on line for sure.

I actually have nothing to say, but wanted to see if I was good to go on my laptop which I am taking to florida. Looks like I'm all set.
Since working on Facebook, I have neglected my blog, but now I am going to blog more. We are going to Florida next week and I want to send reviews of our adventures. The latest her at hoe is the completion of Tom's e-book, "Ghost Walkers of the Western Desert." He has worked many hours getting this written and it is a great Christian fiction book as well as history, a love story and adventure. NOw he is taking my book "A Window into the Past and putting it it e-book form. You can't find this one yet on Google, but soon. It will be listed as "Windows into the Past", a Depression Short Story book, which is what it actually is, a group of short stories, yet all connected. There is a Word of Life concert at our Church, West Paris Baptist tomorrow night at 6:30. We are having tow of the young men as guests in our home. We will pick them up tonight and they will be here for two days and nights. Actually we take them back to church tomorrow morning at 6:30 as they will be visiting Christian schools in the area all day. Then we pick them up again at church in the evening after the concert. They will have a spagetti supper at church tomorrow night, which Pastor Scott is fixing. Well other than bragging about sub zero weather, that about catches all up on what I've been doing.
